Hours and Programs

At StoryHeights Montessori, we follow an AMS-oriented approach (American Montessori Society), which blends the core priniciples of Montessori education with practical flexibility to meet the needs of today's families. Unlike the strict AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) model, which adheres rigidly to Maria Montessori's orginial methods, AMS allows for a more adaptable and inclusive approach while still upholding Montessori Excellence.

At StoryHeights Montessori, we speak to children with kindness and respect, using positive language of limits to guide behavior. Instead of saying “Don’t run,” we say “Let’s use walking feet.” Rather than “Stop grabbing,” we say “Let’s take turns.” We never yell or raise our voices, but instead use positive redirection and reinforcement to help children make good choices. Our goal is to create a calm, supportive environment where children feel safe, valued, and empowered to grow.
